Overview
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will assist the dental team in providing quality oral healthcare to patients. Responsibilities

Maintains patient privacy and follows all HIPPA and FISMA policies.
Sets up operatory for planned dental procedure and cleans/disinfects dental unit for timely turnover.
Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs by performing four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently
Prepare patients for dental procedures by taking their vital signs and updating medical records.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
Keeps storage and treatment rooms clean and organized.
Take dental x-rays.
Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental.
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
Correctly orientates dental x-rays and identifies the tooth/teeth captured under guidance of a more experienced assistant.
Follows all radiation safety protocols and ensures patients are exposed to the least radiation possible.
Properly follows infection-control standards before, during and after dental images are captured.
Discuss patients concerns and establish chief complaint to be relayed to dentist.

Requirements

Proficiency in handling health records
Familiarity with human anatomy
Experience with Open Dental or similar dental software is a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Our Hours:
Monday: 8AM - 5PM
Tuesday: 1PM - 5PM
Wednesday: 8AM - 5PM
Thursday: 1PM-5PM
1st and 3rd Friday of the month: 8AM-4PM
2nd Saturday of the month: 8AM - 4PM
Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting (45 lbs. or over). Moderate lifting (15-44 lbs.) Light lifting (15 lbs. and under). Light carrying (15 lbs. and under). Pushing (1 hour). Reaching above shoulder. Use of fingerprints. Both hands required. Walking (up to 4 hours). Standing (up to 8 hours). Kneeling (up to 2 hours). Repeated bending (up to 6 hours). Ability to rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. Near vision correctable at 13" to 16". Hearing (aid permitted).
