Job Listing: Dental Hygienist Position: Full Time-Appanoose County Clinic, Centerville,Iowa.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program currently licensed inIowa. Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) and Local Anesthesia (LA) licensure required.Currently certified to take/make radiographs in the state of Iowa. Must have excellent abilities to communicate and educate children and adults as well as other staff as needed. Able to perform related responsibilities with minimal supervision. Must be able to show documentation of previously administered Hepatitis B vaccination.
Duties: Deliver appropriate dental care incorporating required preventive and supportive measures. To promote awareness of oral health and to teach certain preventive procedures designed to control dental disease.
Specific Duties and Activities:
1. Provide those services legally licensed to perform, i.e.; a. periodontal charting b. Ultrasonic/Cavitron debridement c. scaling and polishing teeth d. soft tissue curettage e. root planing f. administration of local anesthetic g. perform prophylaxis and fluoride treatment h. provide proper oral hygiene instruction at every visit i. provide nutritional counseling when necessary j. maintain statistics on clinical procedures as needed k. maintain adequate documentation of services performed, as well as updating the treatment plan in the patient electronic dental record l. application of dental sealants
Additional Duties:
1. Taking/making dental radiographs2. Medical history review and documentation3. preliminary screening for decay
4. Make impressions for study models/night guards, etc.5. Other duties as assigned
