Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care, ensuring patient comfort, and promoting oral health education. As a Dental Hygienist, you will work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to deliver exceptional patient care in a friendly and professional environment.
Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy for patients of all ages.
Conduct thorough assessments of patientsâ oral health, including reviewing medical histories and vital signs.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist in the documentation review of patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with dental regulations.
Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff.
Operate dental equipment and instruments safely while adhering to infection control protocols.
Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software systems.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional care in pediatric dentistry when necessary.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Experience in dental assisting is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review is a plus.
Knowledge of dental terminology and medical terminology is essential.
Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar practice management software systems.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
