Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Duties
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess oral health.
Take and record vital signs of patients before procedures.
Utilize dental terminology accurately in patient interactions and documentation.
Perform medical imaging procedures as needed, including X-rays.
Assist in general dentistry practices, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques.
Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Work with pediatric dentistry cases, adapting communication and techniques for younger patients.
Maintain accurate patient records using Eaglesoft or similar dental office software.
Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Skills
Strong patient care skills with a focus on comfort and education.
Proficient in taking vital signs and understanding their implications for dental health.
Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures relevant to general dentistry.
Experience with medical imaging techniques, particularly in a dental setting.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Ability to work effectively in pediatric dentistry, demonstrating patience and adaptability.
Proficiency in using Eaglesoft or similar dental office management software is preferred.
Understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures is an asset.
