Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during visits. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for patient education and preventive care.
Duties
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review and oral examinations.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing procedures to maintain optimal oral health.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist in pediatric dentistry by providing age-appropriate care and guidance to young patients.
Utilize medical terminology accurately during documentation and communication with the dental team.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Collaborate with dentists in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Utilize medical imaging technologies to capture diagnostic images as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in Dentrix or similar software.
Skills
Proficient in patient assessment techniques to evaluate oral health effectively.
Experience or knowledge in pediatric dentistry to cater to younger patients' needs.
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental practices.
Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently, working closely with the dentist during procedures.
Strong understanding of infection control standards and practices within a clinical setting.
Knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures for comprehensive patient care.
Proficient in medical imaging techniques for diagnostic purposes.
Experience using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
Excellent documentation review skills to ensure accuracy in patient records.
