Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dental team and promoting oral health education among patients. We are looking for 2 or 3 days and are flexible on which days you would work.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient assessments, including taking medical histories and vital signs.
Conduct dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth using appropriate instruments.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Familiarize yourself with dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to patient care.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in general dentistry settings.
Requirements
Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
Proficiency in assisting with various dental procedures and familiarity with dental office systems.
Strong understanding of infection control practices and patient assessment techniques.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health matters.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred but not mandatory.
