Gangi Dental Care is a leading dental clinic dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team and support our dental professionals in delivering high-quality oral health services.
Job Summary:
The Dental Assistant will perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Responsibilities include preparing patients for treatments and procedures, assisting the dentist during procedures, sterilizing instruments, taking and processing X-rays, and managing patient records. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to patient comfort and care.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet and prepare patients for dental procedures.
Ensure patients are comfortable in the dental chair.
Obtain and review patients' medical histories.
Assist the dentist during various procedures by providing instruments and materials.
Use suction devices and other equipment to keep patients' mouths dry and clear.
Anticipate the dentist's needs to ensure efficient workflow.
Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
Set up instrument trays and prepare materials for dental procedures.
Take and process dental X-rays as directed by the dentist.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
Manage inventory of dental supplies and order as needed.
Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
Educate patients on general oral health care and preventive measures.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) is preferred.
Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) is an advantage.
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
Proficiency in dental practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
Ability to provide compassionate patient care.
Current CPR certification.
