Dental Hygienist (Part-time) - Iverson Dental Care - Yorktown, VA

Job SummaryWe are seeking a joyful and service-oriented PT Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice and work alongside three other incredibly talented and experienced hygienists. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures and ability to work well as part of a team.
Current days needed are Monday and Thursday, with option to add more days going forward.
Hours are 6:30-4:00 with patients starting at 7am. Patients are scheduled hourly.

Duties

Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal treatments for patients.
Conduct patient assessments, including medical histories and oral cancer screening
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
Maintain accurate medical records using OpenDental software, ensuring all patient information is up-to-date.
Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe, clean environment.
Utilize imaging techniques to assist in diagnosing dental conditions.
Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide comprehensive care for children and adults.

Requirements

Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.
Strong knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and disease prevention.
Experience with general dentistry practices.
Proficient in infection control procedures and best practices.
Ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate treatment options clearly.
Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is a plus but not required.
