Dental Hygienist - Gateway Dental Associates of Wareham - Wareham, MA

OverviewWe are seeking a part-time dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and promoting oral health education. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures and excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and the dental team.
Duties

Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess oral health.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in infection control protocols and maintain a sterile working environment using aseptic techniques.
Review medical histories and documentation to identify any potential issues or contraindications.
Collaborate with dentists in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry procedures as needed.
Utilize Dentrix software for patient scheduling, charting, and record management.
Provide support in dental assisting tasks when required, ensuring smooth workflow within the practice.

Requirements

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dental care.
Familiarity with infection control standards and practices.
Experience with documentation review processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Proficient in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to treatment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating independence in clinical tasks.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient safety.
