Position Summary:
The Registered Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing comprehensive dental care to patients, including preventive and therapeutic services. The ideal candidate will possess an anesthesia license and demonstrate proficiency in administering local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort during dental procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments
· Perform periodic full mouth periodontal probing
· Conduct oral examinations and provide oral hygiene instruction
· Take dental radiographs (X-rays)
· Administer local anesthesia to patients under the supervision of a dentist
· Assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning for patients
· Document patient care and treatment plans in electronic health records
· Collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal patient care
· Stay current with dental hygiene practices and continuing education requirements
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
· Valid license to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the state of Maryland
· Current anesthesia license
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
· Proficiency in administering local anesthesia
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with the dental team
· Commitment to continuing education and professional development
Work Environment:
The Registered Dental Hygienist will work in a professional dental office setting, interacting with patients of all ages and backgrounds. The role requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision. Flexible schedule 2 â 4 days per week. Office hours Mon â Thursday 7:30 am â 4 pm.
