Core Responsibilities:

Patient Education:Dental hygienists educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits to prevent cavities and gum disease.
Oral Hygiene Procedures:They perform professional teeth cleaning, removing plaque and tartar buildup, and polishing teeth to promote healthy gums and teeth.
Preventative Care:They apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to strengthen teeth and prevent decay.
Patient Assessment:They assess patients' oral health, identify potential problems, and document findings in patient records.
Radiography:They may take and process dental X-rays to assist dentists in diagnosing conditions that are not visible during a clinical examination.
Assisting Dentists:They assist dentists during procedures, preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring a smooth workflow.
Record Keeping:They maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Collaboration:They work closely with dentists and other dental staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
Identifying Oral and Systemic Health Problems:They are trained to recognize early signs and symptoms of oral and systemic diseases and how oral and systemic health together affect the overall health of the patient.

Pay: $350.00 - $500.00 per day
