Job Description
Job Summary: The Dental Assistant is responsible for providing support to the dentist and ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care. This role involves a combination of clinical and administrative tasks to assist in the smooth operation of the dental practice. Experience in assisting with dental implants and extractions is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist during procedures, especially implants and extractions.
Sterilize instruments and equipment.
Take and develop X-rays.
Record patient histories.
Maintain patient comfort and manage anxiety.
Provide postoperative instructions.
Schedule and confirm appointments.
Update dental charts.
Handle patient inquiries.
Manage dental supplies inventory.
Process payments and handle billing.
Qualifications
Proficient in chairside assisting and dental terminology
Knowledgeable in general dentistry
Familiarity with aseptic techniques
Experience with EMR systems, particularly Eaglesoft
Ability to perform X-ray imaging and understand pediatric dentistry
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation practices
Requirements
2 years chairside clinical experience
Implant and oral surgery assisting experience not required but preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 â 32 per week
