Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our practice. This job requires excellent interpersonal skills to help ease the anxiety that many feel when visiting the dentist. The hygiene assistant should assist the hygienist in order to make for a more efficient and productive environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Ensure treatment room is stocked, sterilized and setup for each appointment
Readies patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient
Pulls up health history and information upon each visit
Notify hygienist of any problems from patients
Review Hygienists schedule and help maintain patient flow throughout the day
Works in unity with other clinical staff to ensure the proper appearance of lab and treatment rooms
Take digital radiographs
Shares maintenance duties as required
Sterilizes interments following established regulations and guidelines
Performs recurring and routine work independently
Disinfect hygiene rooms according to OSHA regulations
Follow up at end of day to make sure proper treatment was billed correctly
Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with state and federal requirements, including the HIPAA privacy and security regulations
Arrange patient charts for next dayâs appointments
Perform closing responsibilities of lab
Depending on workload, assists in monitoring the schedule and confirming appointments
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Dental practice experience preferred
Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other office staff members and the community
X-Ray certification or willingness to obtain

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
