Shawnee Health Service is seeking Dental Assistant Apprentice for our Shawnee Health Care, Carbondale & Marion Dental centers. The Dental Assistant Apprentice will work with a Dental Assistant Mentor and have a variety of responsibilities including those below:

Responsibilities

Assists the dentist in the administration of treatment at the chairside such as:

Provides proper instruments for any given treatment procedure.
Prepares dental material correctly, to meet the needs of the procedure.
Following completion of radiographic section of online training, exposes, develops and mounts radiographs, under the supervision of a mentor or other credentialed staff member.
Conducts patient education such as treatment plan review, post-op instructions, and oral hygiene techniques.
Maintains all dental clinic areas in compliance with dental policies relative to infection control, exposure control and safety measures
Receives and places necessary telephone calls, patient recall, confirming patients, Post are follow-up, and other clinic business.
Ensures the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials in accordance with policy as well as state and federal regulations.

The Dental Assistant Apprentice will be tasked with completing an online Clinical Dental Assistant Training program within a six-month period from the start date. The Dental Assistant Apprentice is also tasked with the successful passage of the DANB Infection Control and Radiation Safety Exam, completion of 240 externship hours, completion of 3500 general apprenticeship hours, and successful passage the DANB General Chairside Exam.

Hourly Pay - $15.00
