Dental Assistant - Mark Pethick DMD - New Haven, CT

Job OverviewHere at Mark Pethick DMD PLLC, we have been serving the people of New Haven in dental care for over 28 years. We are in search of a new experienced dental assistant to join and expand on our team. Ideally we would like someone who takes initiative and is a great multitasker, as they will have various tasks to complete throughout the day. Someone who excels in communicating with others as they will be dealing with patients, and most importantly someone who is friendly and eager to add to a positive environment and workspace.
Duties

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment schedules.
Perform basic laboratory tasks, including taking impressions and utilizing a 3D scanner for prosthodontics.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Taking dental X-Rays of patients.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a dental assistant is preferred, those with prior experience are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge of dental terminology and general dentistry practices is essential.
Familiarity with infection control procedures and aseptic techniques.
Experience with 3D scanners is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
A positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Radiology Certification
DANB Infection Control Certification

While we are currently still in our New Haven location, we will eventually move to Whitney Avenue in Hamden. During this time we would like to hire a part-time position that will eventually graduate to full-time once we are more situated in our new space.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
