Dr K and her team are seeking out an experience dental assistant who will make the dentistâs office more efficient and pleasant for patients and staff. Youâll ensure an excellent patience experience and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentistâs shoulders. The lead assistant should be well-organized with great attention to detail. We need the lead to be a skilled assistant in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible
Responsibilities
Welcome patients in the dental office
Prepare tray set ups for procedures: hygiene, fillings, crowns, extractions, bone grafts, root canals
Sterilize instruments according to OSHA regulations
Assist chair side with skilled GP dental procedures
Undertake lab tasks: pouring models, managing case logs
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Organized Ordering for GP, hygiene, and specialists (OS, Perio, and Endo)
Maintain accurate patient records. Charting and documenting patient conversation. Accurate treatment planning within Epic software
Train skill sets to new and growing assistants
Lead the back office team of assistants and facilitate the efficient flow of the schedule, always planning ahead
Delegate and ensure compliance and maintenance of equipment is done.
Skills
Proven experience as dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
Good computer skills
Must have at least 2 years of dental assisting experience
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
