Position Overview The Dental Assistant will work closely with the dentist and other team members to ensure seamless and efficient patient care. This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, requiring strong organizational skills, technical proficiency, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in patient service and infection control protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring efficiency and patient comfort
Prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms
Capture and process dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with safety protocols
Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with treatment charting
Support front office functions, including appointment scheduling and patient check-in, as needed
Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control regulations to maintain a safe clinical environment
Qualifications
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred but not required
Previous experience in a dental setting is an asset, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
Proficiency in using dental instruments and digital radiography equipment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to enhance patient experience
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe)
