Dental Hygienist - Northern Peaks Dental - Sandpoint, ID

Northern Peaks Dental is looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our family! This is a fantastic opportunity to take over a full schedule at a busy and growing dental office. Tired of hand scaling? Discover a smarter, ergonomic way to practice hygiene. Our office utilizes Guided Biofilm Therapy and we will provide training and resources to become a certified provider. GBT provides a better patient experience and science backed results. It also drastically decreases the need for hand scraping! In combination with laser therapy you can help offer patient the latest our profession has to offer. We are looking for a great team player who is reliable, eager to learn, and able to build trust with patients of all ages in our wonderful Sandpoint community.
Responsibilities

Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontists
Utilize Guided Biofilm Therapy to remove plaque and protect teeth
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care
Communicate clearly with patients
Take X-rays or dental impressions
Be a partner to the dentist in selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
Maintain accurate documentation and charts for patients
Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
Sterilize dental instruments properly
Monitor supplies

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g. HIPAA and OSHA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
Patient and friendly personality
Dental hygienist license & certificates
CPR certified

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 38 per week
