Dental Assistant - Howard A. Mendelsohn DDS, PC - Virginia Beach, VA

Privately owned general dental office is looking for an experienced and outgoing dental assistant to add to our outstanding team. We need someone who has hands on experience and extensive knowledge in restorative treatment, extractions, prosthetics, sealants, endodontics, treatment planning, writing up chart notes, and sterilization. Someone who enjoys working with patients of all ages from children to our mature patients. Someone who has a positive, outgoing, friendly personality and excellent bedside manner. Someone who is self motivated and has a strong work ethic and understand being a team player. This position is Monday - Thursday from 8:30am - 5:00pm, and Fridays are from 8:30-12:30. Softdent & Dexis experience a plus with competitive pay to match experience.
Summary
As a Dental Assistant, you will be integral to the dental care team, supporting dentists during procedures and ensuring patient comfort. Your core skills in dental assisting, chairside assisting, and knowledge of dental terminology will be essential in performing tasks such as dental extractions and utilizing 3D scanners. With premium skills in EMR systems and X-Ray, you will help maintain accurate patient records and assist in imaging procedures. Your role is vital in delivering high-quality dental care and fostering a positive experience for patients in our practice.
Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during procedures, including dental extractions and other treatments.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
Utilize dental terminology and knowledge of anatomy to support patient care.
Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Operate dental technology, including 3D scanners and X-ray equipment, as needed.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
