Dental Assistant - MediDental Care - Astoria, NY

About the Role: MediDental Care is seeking an experienced and reliable Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3-5 years of experience in a dental office and possess a passion for providing exceptional care to patients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the dentist’s office operates efficiently and provides a welcoming environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet and welcome patients in a friendly, professional manner

Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring their comfort

Select, set up, and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures

Sterilize instruments and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations

Assist the dentist during procedures using 4-handed dentistry

Undertake lab tasks as assigned

Provide oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care to patients

Maintain clean and well-stocked dental treatment rooms

Schedule patient appointments and manage records accurately

Assist with patient payment procedures

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a dental assistant (required)

Proficiency with Dentrix and Dexis software

Strong knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques

Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing (preferred)

Excellent computer skills and proficiency in office software

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Ability to follow instructions and adhere to dental office regulations

High school diploma; graduation from an accredited dental assistant school preferred

Additional certifications (e.g., EFDA) are a plus
