Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented dental hygienist to perform preventive dental care and educate patients on maintaining good oral health. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine cleanings, taking X-rays, assisting in the development of treatment plans, and ensuring the overall comfort of our patients. We are looking for someone who is patient-focused, reliable, and passionate about improving the oral health of our community.
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Chart conditions of decay and disease
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Assist in identifying and diagnosing oral conditions under the direction of the dentist
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and work areas
- Stay current with industry developments and advancements
Requirements:
- Valid dental hygienist license in California
- Associate’s degree or higher in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and equipment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- CPR certification required (or willing to obtain)
Preferred:
- Experience with OpenDental and XDR is a plus.
- Previous experience in a dental office setting
