The ideal candidate will be looking to grow as part of our team and to stay with our office as part of a long-term employment relationship. Our office takes pride in providing exceptional orthodontic care in a friendly, positive environment. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and interpersonal abilities, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of service during their orthodontic treatment. Previous orthodontic assisting experience is preferred but not required - we would be happy to train the right candidate who has a humble and can-do attitude.
Duties
- Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces, changing wires, bonding clear aligner attachments, fitting bands, and adjusting a wide range of orthodontic appliances.
- Perform intraoral 3D scans and coordinate submissions to our lab for appliance fabrication.
- Take Panoramic and Lateral Cephalometric x-rays.
- Prepare treatment chairs by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting chairs, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Maintain accurate dental records and documentation for each patient visit.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and care for orthodontic appliances.
- Help with appointment scheduling and follow-up communications with patients.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.

- Assist the front desk with patient scheduling duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be a dental assistant and have an active license to take dental x-rays.
- Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant is preferred but not required - the right personality is more important than having previous orthodontic experience, and our office can train the right candidate who is motivated and eager to learn.
- Proficiency in typing to chart dental procedures at each visit.
- Familiarity with proper infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively and compassionately interact with patients, parents, and other staff.
- Candidate must have impeccable integrity.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
