Greenbrier Dental Center is a single office, privately owned, full service general, dental practice serving the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake, Virginia since 1985.
Our dental office has five dentists, six hygienists, eighteen dental assistants and twenty office administrators making us one of the most successful dental practices in Hampton Roads.
We work hard to as a team to ensure our patients receive the best dental care possible. We strive to keep the most up to date equipment, allowing us to communicate and educate our patients as well giving them all of the comforts of home.

About the Role:
The Dental Hygiene Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting dental hygienists and ensuring a smooth workflow within the dental practice. This position involves assisting with patient care, maintaining a sterile environment, and managing dental instruments and equipment. The primary goal is to enhance patient comfort and safety while promoting optimal oral health. The Dental Hygiene Assistant will also be responsible for educating patients on proper dental hygiene practices and assisting in various dental procedures. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and the efficiency of the dental team.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental assisting or a related field.
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
Dental X-Ray certificate for the State of Virginia
AHA CPR certified for health care providers
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in dental assisting.
Experience with dental software Eaglesoft experience a plus.
Additional training in infection control and sterilization techniques.
Responsibilities:
Assist dental hygienists during patient examinations and cleanings.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
Take dental X-rays and photographs
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling appointments.
Ensure the dental office environment is clean, sterile, organized, and welcoming for patients.
Skills:
The required skills such as dental assisting and knowledge of dental terminology are essential for effectively communicating with both patients and the dental team. Proficiency in sterilization and infection control ensures a safe environment for patients, which is paramount in healthcare settings.
