Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with the dentist to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe patient care. The Dental Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including assisting with dental procedures, maintaining patient records, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized office environment. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care Assistance: Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing instruments, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring patient comfort.
Administrative Support: Take patient histories, manage patient records, schedule appointments, and handle billing and insurance documentation.
X-Ray Operation: Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required by the dentist.
Sterilization: Ensure all dental instruments and equipment are sterilized and maintained according to health and safety protocols.
Patient Education: Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment procedures as directed by the dentist.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage dental supplies, ensuring the practice has the necessary materials for daily operations.
Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of dental equipment to ensure everything is in working order.
Office Support: Provide general support to the dental office team, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in dental assisting is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a dental assistant role is a plus, but not required.
Skills: Knowledge of dental terminology, dental procedures, and office software; ability to take X-rays; excellent organizational and communication skills.
Certifications: CPR certification, and radiology certification (if applicable, based on state requirements).
Personal Traits: Strong attention to detail, patient-focused attitude, ability to work well in a team, and a proactive, positive attitude.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a dental office setting, where you will be on your feet for extended periods, interacting with patients, and working with dental tools and equipment.
The office is typically open Monday through Friday
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 â 40 per week
