About the Job:
We are hiring a FT dental assistant for our busy endodontic practice. Strongly recommend experience as a dental assistant. Fluent in Spanish would be a bonus. $52,000 - 67,000 annually depending on qualifications - benefits available. Dental Assistant Recommendations:
Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental assisting program.
Mixing dental/endodontic cements and filling material.
The Doctor takes ALL x-rays using electronic imaging - NO developing x-rays.
High school diploma or equivalency.
Experience using computers for a variety of dental office tasks.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Consistently professional appearance and attitude.
Strongly recommend living near (within 30 minute [or LESS] commute) Smithtown office location.
Fluent in Spanish is a bonus.
Dental Assistant Responsibilities:
Preparing patients for dental work.
Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
Recording treatment information legibly in patient records.
Providing post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
Caring for the dental equipment / operatory.
Maintaining dental equipment and supply inventory. The doctor does all ordering personally.
