Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, as well as experience in various areas of dentistry including general dentistry, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. This role requires proficiency in aseptic techniques and familiarity with advanced dental technologies such as 3D scanners and electronic health records systems like Dentrix.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are ready.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental terminology and software systems.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Support the dentist in performing endodontic treatments and other specialized procedures.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques at all times.
Assist in managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a welcoming clinic environment.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures is essential.
Familiarity with 3D scanning technology and electronic health record systems (Epic) is a plus.
Strong understanding of aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care.
Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the field of dentistry.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $23.35 - $27.00 per hour
