Job Description: Experienced Dental Assistant
Position Overview: An experienced dental assistant is a crucial member of the dental team who provides essential support by delivering high-quality oral healthcare services to patients. This position requires a combination of clinical skills, organizational abilities, and excellent interpersonal communication to ensure smooth dental procedures and patient comfort.
Prepare treatment rooms for procedures, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, andequipped with necessary instruments and materials.
Assist the dentist during dental procedures by passing instruments, holding suction devices, and ensuring a clear field of vision.
Greet and welcome patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Take dental X-rays and intraoral images as directed by the dentist, following all safety protocols and ensuring the quality of the images.
Develop and maintain digital radiographs, organizing them appropriately in the patient's electronic health record.
Take impressions and prepare dental models for crowns, bridges, and dentures.
Fabricate temporary restorations and appliances under the direction of the dentist.
Assist the dentist during specialized procedures such as dental surgeries, endodontic treatments, and orthodontic procedures.
Stay updated on advancements in dental technology, procedures, and industry trends by attending workshops, seminars, and professional development courses.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized dental assistant program is preferred.
Proven experience as a dental assistant, with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
Experience with Itero is required
Experience with Cerec is preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental office environment.
Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols.
CPR certification is usually required or preferred.
No weekend hours. 32 hours per week. Monday-Wednesday 7:45-5, Thursday 7:45-1
