Job Description

Overview.
General Dentist office seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. Hours range from 16-34hrs per week with one Saturday per month. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being during procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities

Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of preventive care.
Take dental radiographs as needed.
Maintain accurate dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in the management of patient flow and scheduling using Dentrix software.
Conduct vital signs assessments and maintain an aseptic technique during procedures.
Ensure all dental instruments are sterilized and prepared for use. and operatory is sterilized and maintained throughout the day.

Skills

Proficient in maintaining dental records and understanding HIPAA compliance.
Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health and hygiene practices.
Ability to perform vital signs assessments accurately.
Understanding of aseptic techniques in a clinical setting.
Basic knowledge of dental coding related to dental procedures is advantageous.
