Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and efficient dental Front Desk Staff member to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be one of the first points of contact for our patients, responsible for creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere while ensuring smooth office operations. This role requires a blend of customer service skills, administrative experience, and a general understanding of dental office procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Greeting & Communication: Greet patients in a warm, friendly manner upon arrival and assist them with check-in procedures.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments in accordance with the dentist’s availability, ensuring minimal gaps in the schedule.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and explain benefits, as needed, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected for accurate billing. We are out of network/fee for service, so there are minimal insurance headaches.
- Patient Records Management: Accurately update and maintain patient records, ensuring all information is complete, current, and confidential.
- Billing & Payments: Process patient payments, issue receipts, and assist with billing inquiries.
- Phone Management: Answer and direct phone calls promptly and professionally. Address patient questions, concerns, and appointment requests.
- Coordination with Clinical Team: Communicate effectively with dentists and dental hygienists regarding patient care, appointment updates, and special needs.
- General Office Support: Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area. Assist with administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and managing office supplies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- Previous experience in a dental office is required. Three plus years preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Dentrix dental software is a plus.
- A friendly, professional, and customer-service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Schedule:
- Full-time: Monday to Friday 8:00-4:30pm (this can be adjusted slightly if needed)
Benefits:
- Competitive salary depending on experience. If you have front desk supervisor experience, pay will be much greater than someone with minimal experience.
