Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to the dental team, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow during patient appointments. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a sterile environment.
Duties
Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, pediatrics and dental surgeries.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
Maintain an aseptic technique throughout all procedures to ensure patient safety.
Take and manage dental radiographs as needed.
Manage patient records using Open Dental software for accurate documentation.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Answer questions patient may have about treatment plan.
Perform dental charting and coding for insurance purposes when necessary.
Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Ensure the bathroom, common areas and dental operatories are clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
Assist co-workers with other office duties and responsibilities as advised.
ExperienceCandidates should possess the following skills and experience:
Proficiency in infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures.
Familiarity with dental software such as Open Dental is preferred.
Experience in endodontics, pediatrics, or surgical dentistry is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
Willing to be cross-trained (front-office duties & back-office duties) REQUIRED.
Proficiency in Mandarin is REQUIRED.
Basic arithmetic math skills is REQUIRED.
Strong communication skills, benevolent attitude towards others and the desire to learn new skills are REQUIRED.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care is REQUIRED.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 24 per week
