Dental Hygienist - Seven Resourcing - East Amherst, NY

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to provide exceptional patient care in our dental practice located in Queens, NY. As a Dental Hygienist, your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, assist with oral exams, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques. Your expertise and gentle demeanour will contribute to creating a positive and comfortable environment for our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar build up
- Conduct oral health assessments and examinations, documenting findings and reporting to the dentist
- Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) as necessary
- Apply fluoride and sealants to protect teeth from decay
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition
- Instruct patients on post-operative care following dental procedures, such as extractions or implants
- Monitor and record patient vital signs during treatment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment notes
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments and managing patient flow
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical area, adhering to infection control protocols
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in dental hygiene techniques
Requirements:
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of New York
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist, preferably in a dental practice setting
- Knowledge of oral health conditions, diseases, and treatments
- Proficient in using dental software systems and digital radiography
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Empathy and patience in dealing with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing dental procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dental team
- Dedication to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professionalism
