Job Description
A dental receptionist is responsible for managing patient appointments, maintaining records, handling administrative tasks, providing excellent customer service to patients by greeting them, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, updating patient information, collecting payments, verifying insurance, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere within the dental office; requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with office software.
Key responsibilities:
Patient scheduling: Booking and managing patient appointments, including cancellations and rescheduling.
Phone management: Answering incoming calls, addressing inquiries, and taking messages.
Patient registration: Gathering patient information, updating records, and verifying insurance details.
Billing and collections: Collecting payments, copays, and balances due at the time of service.
Insurance verification: Checking patient insurance coverage and processing claims.
Administrative tasks: Maintaining patient files, filing paperwork, and managing office supplies.
Customer service: Providing a positive and welcoming experience for all patients.

Qualifications
Proven experience in a medical or dental office setting
Strong customer service and organizational skills
Proficiency in medical administrative support and clerical tasks
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and multi-line phone systems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
