Job Description

Position Overview:
As a Pediatric Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing professional dental hygiene care to children, including cleanings, exams, and preventative treatments. Your role will also involve educating both children and parents on proper oral hygiene and helping young patients feel comfortable during their visit.
Responsibilities:
Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis for pediatric patients
Take digital X-rays, ensuring the comfort and safety of the child
Educate children and parents on the importance of oral hygiene, diet, and cavity prevention
Provide fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants to protect young teeth
Assist in developing treatment plans in collaboration with the pediatric dentist
Update patient records and maintain accurate charts
Create a positive and welcoming environment for young patients, helping them feel at ease during their visit
Sterilize dental instruments and maintain a clean, safe environment in compliance with infection control protocols
Participate in patient education activities to promote good oral health habits
Qualifications:
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist
Experience working with pediatric patients (preferred but not required)
Knowledge of pediatric dental procedures and care
Excellent communication skills, especially with children and parents
Compassionate, patient, and able to create a calm, friendly atmosphere
CPR certification required
Experience with dental software is a plus
Preferred Experience:
1+ years of experience working in pediatric dentistry (new graduates are welcome to apply)
