Clinical Dental Hygienist- Part Time and Maternity Coverage - Wilson Dental Associates - ,

We are looking for a caring and energetic dental hygienist to join our amazing team! We have a well-established, modern dental practice in Cave Spring. The ideal candidate will help treat patients, promote good oral health practices, and enjoy working with others. We put patients first, and we encourage and support each other. A positive attitude, compassion towards patients, and solid knowledge of dental hygiene are a must.
This position is to cover maternity leave for one of our amazing hygienists who is having a baby in April. We also can accommodate part-time ours outside of this, and there is the opportunity to grow to full time if that is of interest. Some benefits only pertain to full-time employees.
Job Responsibilities:

Perform hygiene procedures (ex: remove plaque, apply fluoride, and manage nonsurgical periodontal therapy)
Oral cancer screenings
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient (such as health history, conditions, findings, and proper note taking)
Maintain dental equipment and x-ray machine
Proper taking of radiographs
Sharpen and sterilize dental instruments
Work with dentists and dental assistants
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession
Patient education on proper hygiene techniques, with consideration for their specific needs

Requirements:

Dental hygiene certification from accredited dental hygiene school
Active license to practice dental hygiene in Virginia, in good standing
Current CPR certificate
Current Hepatitis B vaccination
Able to administer local anesthetic
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Comfortable using computers for a variety of tasks
Knowledgeable about oral hygiene and dental health
Physical requirements: Long periods of sitting or standing; stamina to meet the physical requirements of the job. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn while administering dental treatments.
