Responsibilities: - Perform dental hygiene procedures, including but not limited to teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing - Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care - Assist the dentist during procedures by preparing materials and instruments, taking dental impressions, and providing suction - Take and develop dental x-rays and perform other medical imaging as necessary - Monitor patients' vital signs and record patient information accurately in dental office systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) - Maintain strict infection control protocols and ensure aseptic technique is followed at all times - Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care Skills: - Proficiency in dental office systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft - Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic technique - Ability to assist the dentist during procedures - Experience with medical imaging techniques for dental purposes - Familiarity with taking vital signs and recording patient information accurately - Strong communication skills to educate patients on oral hygiene practices - Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records Note: Additional skills such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) may be required depending on the specific practice.
