Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist for a 3-month contract with the option to extend at the Fort Yates Indian Health Service (IHS) Unit in Fort Yates, ND. The hygienist will provide essential preventative dental care, including cleanings, patient education, and periodontal treatments, while working closely with the dental team to support the oral health needs of the local community. Travel and lodging provided.
Responsibilities include:
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventative care.
Assist in screening and identifying oral health conditions.
Maintain accurate patient records and comply with IHS guidelines.
Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare providers for comprehensive care.
Requirements:
Active RDH license (state requirements may apply).
Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong communication and patient care skills.
