Job Description Registered Dental HygienistThe Dental Hygienist is responsible for the direct provision of oral hygiene and appropriatepreventive services to patients of Dental Aid. This position will work in Boulderclinic. The Registered Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing appropriate oral health careand information to individuals and groups.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provides clinical oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing,sealant application and fluoride application consistent with accepted professional practicesand standards and in compliance will applicable state law and Dental Aid’s clinical protocols.Assists in the oral health management of all Dental Aid patients.Obtains baseline oral hygiene assessment data based upon accepted principles of oralhygiene and periodontal care.Records patient-hygienist transactions as they occur in the patient’s dental records andensures that dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, thecondition of the patient and the care or treatment provided.Provides oral health education and appropriate individual counseling regarding oral hygienefor all Dental Aid patients.Participates in the continuing education requirements of the state law.Assists in the maintenance of all Dental Aid areas in compliance with directives and policiesas well as policies and procedures relative to OSHA and HIPAA requirements.SKILLS & TRAINING:Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g. HIPAA)Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.A friendly and patient personality.Attention to detail.Able to obtain professional malpractice insurance.Bilingual a plus, but not requiredEDUCATION & LICENSURE AND CREDENTIALS:License to practice oral hygiene in the State of ColoradoCurrent CPR certificationITR Permit a plus, but not requiredCOMPENSATION:Hourly Rate $47-50
