Dental Assistant - Hacienda Kidz Dental - Bakersfield, CA

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic children's dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, medical documentation, and a passion for providing high quality and kind care to young patients.
Responsibilities

Assisting in examinations and procedures
Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for examinations and treatments.
Must perform X-ray imaging as needed while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Document patient medical histories accurately and maintain up-to-date records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with infection control protocols.

Experience

Previous experience at a children's dental office is strongly preferred
Spanish speakers preferred
Familiarity with dental assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry and X-ray procedures.
Experience with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and adapting to evolving dental technologies.
Must demonstrate patience and kindness when working with children
