Dental Assistant - SURI DENTAL GROUP - Amherst, NY

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to assist both patients and the dental team effectively.
Duties

Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for use.
Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the clinic, acting as a dental receptionist when needed.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
Experience with Dentrix or Epic software is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
Certification or diploma from an accredited dental assistant program is preferred but not required.
A willingness to learn new techniques and stay updated on industry standards.
