Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Welcome patients in the dental office
Excellent ability to make patients feel comfortable
Prepare patients and work area for treatments or checkups ensuring patient's comfort
Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
Charting of existing conditions and proposed treatment
Presenting proposed treatment with insurance coverage and patient co-pays, as well as keeping accurate notes
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Schedule appointments
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
Skills
Valid NC Registered Dental Hygienist and BLS/CPR certification
Periodontal charting, routine prophylaxis, fluoride application, placing sealants, soft tissue management, scaling and root planning
Experience taking digital x-rays & intraoral photos
Knowledgeable of ADA codes
Maintains annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS and infection control training as required by law
