Job Title: Lead Dental Assistant
Location: Sunny Smile Dental ServiceSchedule: 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
Sunny Smile Dental Service is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Dental Assistant to oversee the daily operations of our dental assisting team and ensure the highest quality of patient care. This position combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities and offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of our practice. Experience with dental implants is required.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties:
Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
Take and process dental X-rays as directed.
Review and update patient medical and dental histories.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-procedure care.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, ensuring all necessary tools are sterilized and ready.
Surgery, Implant, and Cosmetic Procedures:
Assist in surgical procedures such as tooth extractions, root canals, periodontal surgeries, and dental implants.
Support cosmetic procedures including teeth whitening, veneers, crowns, and bonding treatments.
Provide clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions for surgical, implant, and cosmetic procedures.
Ensure smooth, efficient procedures with attention to surgical and implant protocols.
Leadership Duties:
Supervise, mentor, and support the dental assistant team to deliver high-quality care.
Manage team schedules and ensure smooth clinic operations.
Train and mentor new and existing dental assistants, ensuring adherence to practice protocols.
Oversee inventory, ensuring proper ordering of dental supplies.
Collaborate with front office and administrative teams to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Office Supplies & Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage the inventory of dental materials and office essentials.
Order supplies as needed to maintain clinic operations without shortages.
Work with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality supplies.
Appointment & Schedule Management:
Assist in creating and managing patient appointments, coordinating with the front office.
Review the doctorâs schedule to ensure appointments are appropriately timed and prepared.
Adjust appointments as needed to ensure efficient use of the doctorâs time.
Customer Service:
Provide outstanding customer service by greeting patients, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients about treatment options and next steps.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with all members of the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care.
Foster a positive, supportive team environment.
Contribute to team morale and maintain a cooperative approach to patient care and office tasks.
Qualifications
Certified Dental Assistant (required).
Experience assisting with dental implants is required.
Minimum of [X] years of dental assisting experience; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Proficiency with dental software (Open Dental) and clinical equipment.
Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization protocols.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Current CPR and radiography certification.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
