Dental Assistant - NC Family Dental - Escondido, CA

Responsibilities:- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients- Take and record vital signs of patients- Prepare treatment rooms for procedures and maintain cleanliness and sterility- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during examinations, treatments, and surgeries- Take dental radiographs (x-rays) and process them for the dentist's review- Perform dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing inquiries- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems such as Dentrix- Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infection- Conduct patient assessments and provide education on oral hygiene practices- Assist with inventory management and ordering dental supplies- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
Experience:- A minimum experience of 2 years as a dental assistant- Familiarity with dental coding and procedures- Proficient in using electronic health record systems, such as Dentrix, to manage patient information and documentation- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages, including children, and make them feel comfortable during dental procedures- High school diploma or equivalent- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages- Knowledge of terminology related to dentistry
