Job Description
Immediate Opening, Dental Hygienist Monday-Wednesday
Three days per week, M, T, W. Often opportunity to cover additional days.
Puyallup, WA Location
Essential Functions:
· Assesses dental condition and needs of patient using patient screening procedures, including medical history review.
· Clean calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums, using dental instruments.
· Feel and visually examine gums for sores and signs of disease.
· Chart conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.
· Feel lymph nodes under patient's chin to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate presence of oral cancer.
· Apply fluorides and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
· Examine gums, using probes, to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease.
· Take digital x-rays
· Provide clinical services and health education to improve and maintain oral health of school children.
· Administer local anesthetic agents.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Completed dental hygiene certificate program or Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene and has current Hygienist license for the state of WA
· New grads OK
· Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite, Practiceworks/Carestream strongly preferred, and the ability to learn new programs
· Laser certification and previous Wand anesthetic delivery experience a plus, willing to train.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $58.00 - $63.00 per hour
