Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during their visits. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, patient assessment, and infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote optimal oral health and educate patients on preventive care.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy.
Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and taking vital signs.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to provide comprehensive patient care.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Skills
Proficient in using dental software systems (Dentrix).
Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
Excellent patient assessment skills, including the ability to take vital signs.
Experience in dental assisting is a plus.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and their application in a clinical setting.
Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
