Some Duties include:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth- Take digital dental x-rays- Conduct oral cancer screenings- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions- Administer local anesthesia- Assist the dentist during dental procedures- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems such as Open Dental- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
Experience:
- Must have a valid dental hygiene license- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a dental hygienist- Proficient in using dental software systems such as Open Dental- Knowledge of dental coding and billing procedures is a plus
