Dental Hygienist - MY Dental Studio - Northampton, MA

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. This role requires a strong commitment to infection control and patient safety while fostering a positive experience for our patients in a friendly and professional environment.
Duties

Conduct thorough dental cleanings and assessments, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and any relevant information in the dental software system.
Assist with maintaining infection control protocols in accordance with industry standards.
Collaborate with the dentist to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Manage patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software systems.

ExperienceCandidates should possess the following skills and experiences:

Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control practices.
Experience in dental assisting or general dentistry is preferred.
Familiarity with pediatrics is a plus, as we cater to patients of all ages.
Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is beneficial.
Strong patient care skills, with an emphasis on creating a comfortable environment for patients.
Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
