Schedule:

Five 8-hour days preferred (Monday–Friday).
MAY accommodate Four 10-hour days.
40-hour guarantee.
No overtime available.

Position Summary:
The Dental Hygienist is responsible for delivering preventive oral health education and dental hygiene services to patients while ensuring a welcoming, inclusive, and professional environment.
Assignment Location:505 E Alcott, Kalamazoo, MI
Vaccination Requirements:Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are minimum work requirements for this client.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with administrative/front desk staff to efficiently schedule hygiene patients.
Accurately chart patients’ periodontal health and maintain thorough, accurate treatment records.
Provide oral health counseling, including nutrition guidance and tobacco cessation.
Perform dental hygiene procedures such as prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and selective polishing.
Take patient radiographs as prescribed by the dentist.
Administer local anesthetics (if allowed by state dental practice act).
Apply cavity-preventative agents, including fluorides and sealants.
Ensure patient comfort during procedures and help alleviate anxiety.
Oversee the cleanliness and sterilization of the treatment room according to strict protocols.
Deliver care to diverse patient populations, including those who are fully insured, uninsured, or have physical/mental limitations.
Use Dentrix EMR and other electronic healthcare systems effectively while complying with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 2 years of current experience required.
Licensure: Active Michigan Dental Hygiene license (must be submitted with application).

Education: Associate degree in Dental Hygiene required.

Proficiency with Cavitron equipment.
Experience with Dentrix EMR system.
Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn electronic healthcare software.

Preferred:

Previous travel experience is highly preferred.
