Overview: Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center, Inc. (BPMC), a non-profit community health center located in the heart of Fort Greene, Brooklyn, is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our dedicated dental care team. For over 40 years, BPMC has provided comprehensive healthcare services to the community, including dental care. The ideal candidate will be a customer service champion, skilled in supporting both the General Dentist and Dental Hygienist in providing quality patient care. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Dentist and Hygienist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Ensure all necessary instruments, supplies, radiographs, charts, and models are available prior to patient appointments. Provide the appropriate instruments in sequence during dental procedures to support the efficiency of the Dentist. Anticipate dental procedure sequences and prepare ahead for smooth operations. Maintain cleanliness and sterilization in the operator room, dental lab, and surrounding areas. Educate patients about proper at-home oral hygiene practices and support good dental health. Follow and enforce infection control policies. Maintain and update the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) log. Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program. Registered Dental Assistant (preferred). Certification in Radiology and Infection Control . 2-4 years of experience as a Dental Assistant. Strong organizational and communication skills, with a passion for patient care.
