Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. You will play a vital role in promoting oral health and educating patients on proper hygiene practices. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Conduct patient assessments and record medical histories.
Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides.
Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist with dental procedures as needed, including chairside assistance.
Utilize dental software systems, such as Eaglesoft, for patient records and scheduling.
Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans for patients.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Requirements
Current state licensure as a Dental Hygienist.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
Experience with medical coding and systems is preferred.
Familiarity with dental assisting practices is a plus.
Proficiency in medical imaging techniques is desirable.
Previous experience in a dental office setting is advantageous.
Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and general dentistry cases.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
