An opportunity for professional growth and fulfillment awaits you! Our well-established family dental practice is seeking a motivated dental hygienist to join our team. We have served our local community for 45 years and built a new facility in 2015 with state-of-the-art technology and equipment. The licensed candidate we are looking for must be passionate about their profession, a skilled clinician, and willing to go the extra mile for their patients! The practice has 2 dentists and 4 hygienists and is a general, family practice that treats patients of all ages. Hygienists will complete both child and adult prophies, take radiographs, and help to educate their patients on how to maintain optimal oral health. We also diagnose and treat periodontal disease with non-surgical scaling and root planing procedures. This position is full time (4 days per week) and employees have paid vacation along with 401k / profit sharing opportunities. Duties
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing oral examinations.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures to maintain optimal oral health.
Utilize medical imaging techniques to capture diagnostic images as needed.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in infection control procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Collaborate with dentists in treatment planning and provide support during procedures.
Utilize Dentrix dental software for patient management and record keeping.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Requirements
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry.
Experience with infection control protocols and procedures.
Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is preferred.
Strong patient assessment skills with an emphasis on patient care and comfort.
Knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively educate patients.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
